Cesare Frepoli (PhD, 2001, Penn State; ME, 1990, Politecnico di Milano, Italy) is the founder and principal consultant of the FPoliSolutions, LLC. Dr. Frepoli has 27 years’ experience in the nuclear industry. The firm specializes in developing software solutions for the nuclear industry but not limited to. Areas of expertise include numerical modelling and simulation of fluid systems, thermal-hydraulic processes and data analysis for computer codes development and validation. Dr. Frepoli is domain expert in executing the Evaluation Model Development and Assessment Process (RG 1.203), performed various scaling analyses and developed important uncertainty analysis methods currently used in the industry. Dr. Frepoli was instrumental in licensing commercial-grade realistic safety analyses methods for Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) across the globe. Before FPoliSolutions, Dr. Frepoli was the main developer and inventor of safety analysis technology at Westinghouse Electric Company, including ASTRUM and the Full Spectrum LOCA products. Other major contributions in his WEC career include the analysis and the development of the technical defense with NRC/ACRS of the safety case for the AP1000, support on the resolution of various industry generic issues. Dr. Frepoli acquired a vast knowledge in legacy thermal-hydraulic test programs and participated in several key experimental campaigns, including the SET and IET in support of the AP600/AP1000, the NRC-sponsored RBHT program, and others.
